Les Fleurs

Born out of my love for the natural world and the diversity found within (as well as a good coffee table book), this conceptual project came to be.
As a child, I grew up with a father whose hobbies and interests were almost never aligned with what was expected of stereotypical masculinity. Instead, he matched my mother on every household task, taking care of the handy work, but most of all, his deep affinity for gardening.
Needless to say, there were tons of gardening and flower care books in the house, everything from full page photo spreads to the very technical academic ones with tiny writing and intricate botanical illustrations. Often times, I found both styles to never fully satisfy what I wanted to see in these books.
In turn, I created my own version of what I did want to see — something visually engaging while remaining informative of the most essential facts. Not too formal, and hopefully, a simple joy to flip through while you’re sipping your morning coffee.
